Problem Statement

These problems required a scalable, flexible solution that could accommodate the needs of business clients and end customers alike while ensuring the company remained at the forefront of the evolving cryptocurrency ecosystem.

My Role

Through my work, I helped the company deliver a cutting-edge, user-friendly experience for end customers while providing flexible and scalable solutions for third-party clients.

Problem Statement

The company was a trailblazer in offering cryptocards to the market, pioneering a solution to make cryptocurrency more accessible and user-friendly. As they sought to expand their business, they faced a multifaceted challenge:

Expanding Market Reach

Baanx aimed to sell their cryptocard services as a white-label solution to third-party crypto companies, enabling other businesses to leverage their infrastructure.

Scaling Crypto Functionality

They sought to expand the cryptocurrency features offered to customers, enhancing their platform’s capabilities to meet the evolving needs of users and the market.

Integrating with Industry Leaders

To remain competitive and future-proof, they needed to ensure seamless integration with established platforms like Ledger, Tezos, and MetaMask.

Enhancing User Accessibility

Baanx envisioned offering their services directly to end users through a web application, providing a streamlined, intuitive user experience for managing cryptocards.

My Role

Started as the solo designer at the company, I took the lead in transforming their outdated design landscape into a cohesive, modern, and scalable ecosystem that supported both B2C and B2B goals. My responsibilities spanned across multiple facets of the product design process:

Establishing a Scalable Design System

I created a comprehensive design system based on tokens, ensuring consistency and flexibility across platforms and enabling seamless scaling for future integrations and customizations.

Revamping Existing Products

I redesigned the company’s outdated Android app, elevating its usability and visual appeal to meet modern standards. Additionally, I designed a new iOS app and developed an adaptive web application to enhance accessibility for end users.

Design for Integration

To support the company’s goal of integration with leading platforms, I tailored the design for Ledger, MetaMask, and other crypto platforms. I also customized the design for more than 10 B2B clients, ensuring brand alignment and functionality across diverse requirements.

User-Centered Research and Testing

I conducted extensive user research and usability testing to identify pain points, validate design decisions, and refine the apps to better meet the needs of both customers and businesses.

Goals and Metrics

The project was guided by a set of clear objectives, aligned with the company’s ambitions to scale their offerings and solidify their position as a leader in the cryptocurrency space. Success was measured through the following goals and corresponding metrics:

Expand Market Reach with White-Label Solutions

Goal:

Enable seamless adoption of the company’s cryptocard services by third-party businesses.

Metrics:

• Number of B2B clients onboarded (target: 10+).

• Time-to-market for customized solutions (target: 20% faster delivery).

Enhance Accessibility for End Users

Provide a consistent, user-friendly experience across Android, iOS, and web applications.

Research Insights

To create a user-centric and scalable solution, I conducted comprehensive research, combining qualitative and quantitative methods to identify user needs, pain points, and opportunities for improvement. Key insights from this research shaped the design decisions:

B2B Client Needs

Insight:

B2B clients required extensive customization options to align the cryptocard services with their own branding and user experiences.

Action:

Designed a flexible white-label solution that could easily adapt to different brand requirements while maintaining core functionality.

Integration Challenges

Insight:

Seamless integration with platforms like Ledger and MetaMask was critical, as users expected smooth and secure interaction between services.

Action:

Conducted a thorough analysis of existing UX patterns and technical requirements for these platforms to ensure a cohesive user experience during integration.

User Preferences and Pain Points

Insight:

End users struggled with the usability of the outdated Android app, citing a lack of intuitive navigation and poor accessibility.

Action:

Prioritized a clean and intuitive design across Android, iOS, and web platforms, focusing on simplifying workflows and enhancing accessibility for a diverse user base.

Feature Prioritization

Insight:

Users expressed strong interest in expanded crypto functionalities, such as token swapping, staking, and transaction tracking, to manage their assets effectively.

Action:

Designed and tested new features based on user feedback, ensuring these additions met high usability standards and addressed specific pain points.
